Leslie Ann Curry

Leslie Ann began her love of pottery while living in the Virgin Islands in 1974.  She continued studying her craft when the family moved to Florida in 1976.  She continued to learn her skills both at Crealde Art Center in Winter Park, FL, and the Maitland Art Center, eventually becoming the pottery instructor to both children and adults at the Maitland Art Center. She took a job teaching art in the Wonders Program at Walt Disney World from 1987 to 1996.  In 1996 she and her husband moved to Washington, DC so that her husband could study theology at Washington Theological University.  Leslie was in charge of the art room, and eventually became the

“Coordinator of Arts and Theology” hanging various art exhibits in their space.  She hosted an “Evening of Prayer” which featured praying from many different cultures.  It was that evening that got her started in what she called “Peace Pots.”  These candle pots feature cut out symbols of many different religious traditions, and are sold with a brief  description of that faith’s beliefs. Now living in Satellite Beach, FL, she continues to be involved  in art and interfaith activities.
